Remington Compact Portable (1937)
From the Ocean View Typewriters collection, this 1937 Remington Compact Portable has Pica typeface and is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. This lesser-seen typewriter, which has many of the same design features and functions as a Portable 2, was usually sold through department stores and features a nickel strip along the front of the ribbon cover.
The typewriter comes with its original carrying case in great condition and a printout of the user's manual. The missing case handle has been replaced with a custom, sturdy paracord handle.
All Ocean View typewriters are disassembled as part of the servicing process. The machines are repaired, chemically cleaned inside and out, adjusted, oiled, polished, and waxed, and have a new ribbon installed. View our How We Service Typewriters page for details on our servicing process.
