How to Reserve a Typewriter
Interested in purchasing a serviced typewriter from Ocean View Typewriters but don't see what you're looking for in our currently available typewriters?
Ocean View Typewriters maintains a large stock of typewriters, many of which aren't advertised on our website or social media until they're serviced. We carry typewriters made by a variety of companies, from different countries of manufacture, with different typefaces, and made during different decades.
Our stock is always changing, but some of the unserviced typewriters we currently have in stock can be viewed in the gallery below or reserved in our Shop.

The Reservation Process
Once the nonrefundable $50 deposit has been paid, work on the typewriter will begin and will usually be complete within 4 weeks, depending on current demand. All Ocean View typewriters are disassembled as part of the servicing process. The machines are repaired, chemically cleaned inside and out, adjusted, oiled, polished, and waxed, and have a new ribbon installed. Select your ribbon colour, shipping method, and whether or not you’d like to receive progress pictures as part of the deposit process. Note: if only black or blue ribbon can be selected, then the typewriter only takes a single-coloured ribbon.
When the typewriter is ready for pickup or shipping, the customer will be notified and receive pictures of the serviced typewriter. The order contents will also be finalized at this stage. Then, the outstanding amount and shipping cost (if applicable) will be invoiced. Note: If, after multiple attempts to contact the customer, the customer has not confirmed the order within 30 days of receiving notification that the typewriter is ready, the deposit will be lost and the typewriter will no longer be held. If an invoice has been issued, the invoice must be paid within 30 days, otherwise the deposit will be lost and the typewriter will no longer be held.
The typewriter price, which can be found in the typewriter's details section, will be finalized when the servicing process is complete, taking into account any unexpected parts required for the typewriter. The customer will be notified before invoicing if the final price is greater than $25 above the estimated price.
